The Rivian Theater, originally the New Lynn Theater built in 1934, underwent a comprehensive plaster restoration of the interior decorative wall and ceiling. Kaptive C&P patched and replaced the decorative plaster on all wall surfaces, the decorative ceiling star, and the proscenium.
We created custom plaster molds to replicate damaged or missing units. To ensure the historical integrity of the star-shaped plaster light fixture, we patched existing damaged or missing parts with like-kind plaster, to match the original design.
For this project, we were a subcontractor for Swinerton Construction. The work was part of a larger restoration of the entire theater, earning it a spot in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
