722 Broadway Los Angeles, CA
The remarkable restoration of 722 Broadway successfully combines contemporary artistry with historical realism. This project, led by Kaptive C&P, has improved the building’s aesthetic appeal while preserving its architectural integrity.
The original gorgeous terra cotta brick façade is now displayed on the front elevation. Our crew painstakingly restored the original brickwork, filled in any damage, and made new bricks specifically to match the original layout. The ornate parapet was notably reconstructed using historical photos, guaranteeing that it captures the history of the structure. With careful cleaning, repairing, and repainting, the south elevation and alley were revived and given back their former charm.
In order to restore the windows, meticulous attention to detail was essential. The wood windows on the front elevation were completely restored, with new glass installed, old paint removed, and damaged areas totally restored. The hardware was either fixed or swapped out for historically accurate components, and any broken or missing wood windows were made to order to match the originals. The building’s original charm was preserved by providing the same careful attention to the metal windows on the alley elevation.
The restoration’s pièce de résistance was the specially made sheet metal cornice, which was made to match the original design using historical photos as a guide.
With great pride, Kaptive C&P has brought 722 Broadway back to life, honoring its past and securing its continued existence for upcoming generations.
