This decorative cast stone preservation project involved removal, patching, and reinstallation. Though originally constructed in the early 50s, this classically-inspired house of worship still had to contend with the same problems that most older masonry structures have. Iron reinforcement had oxidized and caused the decay and failure of numerous areas of decorative precast elements. Selective removal of the decayed elements and repair of those elements allowed the original building fabric to be retained and incorporated into the new and much more reliable substrate.
