Revitalizing Columbia State Park: A Commitment to Heritage

U.S. National Register of Historic Places, U.S. National Historic Landmark

Many of the park’s buildings have had their historical relevance and aesthetic appeal effectively preserved thanks to a recent restoration project at Columbia State Park. Under the management of Kaptive C&P, the goal of this project was to improve these historic buildings’ internal plasterwork as well as their brick façades.

Each façade was painstakingly cleaned by our staff to bring it back to its previous splendor. Bricks were patched, fixed, and replaced as necessary to preserve the structures’ structural integrity and visual appeal.

We also completed a thorough inside plaster restoration. Plaster on walls and ceilings that was bubbling, breaking, and damaged was meticulously removed, and new plaster that was specifically made to resemble the original in both look and chemical makeup was used in its place.

With the completion of this project, Kaptive C&P is happy to guarantee that Columbia State Park will continue to be a treasured component of our cultural legacy for many years to come.
