Terra Cotta Patching for Security Lofts Building

Los Angeles, Los Angeles County
California, USA

The Security Lofts Building in Los Angeles, built in 1906, was once the tallest building in the city. It recently underwent an exterior restoration, involving patching and repairing the terra cotta units. Joints between terra cotta units were repointed, and, once repairs were complete, a coat of faux paint and glaze were added to blend with the original. New metal gutters were custom manufactured and installed in order to match the original gutters in the center of the light court.
