After years of exposure to the elements, the exterior windows of the Security Lofts Building in downtown LA required repainting to restore their appearance, and protect them from further deterioration. Built in 1920, the 11-story high rise had since been converted from a bank into a residential building, now home to The Lofts apartment complex.
Kaptive PaintWorks prepped the double-hung wood windows by first removing the old, damaged paint. Loose and flaky areas were stripped using light sanding, then primer was applied before repainting the sashes and frames. We also repainted the roof’s decorative metal cornice.
The Security Lofts Building is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
